From Policy to Deployment: Powering New Mexico’s Energy Future
Now in its third year, the New Mexico Energy Policy Symposium has become a trusted space for alignment, action, and forward movement. What began as a convening has grown into a statewide network of leaders committed to building New Mexico’s energy future.
This symposium brings together operators, developers, Tribal leadership, policymakers, rural communities, utilities, electric cooperatives, and infrastructure experts to focus on what matters most right now: moving from policy to real-world deployment across the state.
New Mexico is balancing the goals of the Energy Transition Act, the realities of climate change, and the continued presence of a robust oil and gas economy alongside a growing advanced energy sector. At the same time, energy demand continues to increase quickly while our utilities and electric cooperatives face aging infrastructure, changing demographics, wildfire threats, and real fiscal constraints.
This convening creates space for practical, solutions-focused discussion around microgrids, grid modernization, the water–energy nexus, infrastructure deployment, workforce readiness, Tribal partnership, and regional economic development—grounded in what can actually be built and delivered.
Our focus remains clear: to align policy with execution and deliver energy systems that are reliable, affordable, and resilient for all New Mexicans.
